Japanese Shipping Industry

A massive increase in Japan’s economy is clear enough to prove that Japan maritime industry is thriving. Over past decade, shipping industry has seen lots of technological changes. According to consolidated financial results announced for the year ending March 2004, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. and Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. ("K" Line) posted record net profits, and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK Line), the largest shipping company in Japan, made substantial gains of more than 200 percent as compared to the previous year.

The main reason for growth of the shipping industry is popularity of Japanese used vehicles. People prefer to buy second-hand vehicles from Japan as buying from Japan is an easy process. Plus, one could get a better quality vehicle at cheaper rates. Regular exportation of used vehicles to many countries helped in the development of the shipping industry.
